Dear Friends of the Caverns,
After just a little needed rain, the weather has been absolutely perfect for hiking. From now through mid-December is the best time for hiking the Grand Canyon. The summer crowds have gone, there are fewer bugs, and it’s cool at night and not too hot during the day. Come visit us and experience a Northern Arizona autumn at the Grand Canyon Caverns!
Sincerely,
John McEnulty

FENCE RESTORATION |
With help from our wonderful neighbors, all the split rail fences around the property have been renovated. Weathered and worn, these fences received some much needed fixing up while keeping that classic old-western look . We hope you will be pleased with our work when you see it during your next visit! |

FRONT MOTEL RECEPTION/STORE BUILDING |
Finally, after years of planning, we have begun the prep work for a new roof on the Motel reception and store building. This has meant removing 60 years and endless layers of old roofing. Everything will need to be prepared for the roofers when they arrive in mid-October. As with all renovations at the Grand Canyon Caverns, we will do our best to maintain the classic Route 66 look and charm. Thanks to your support this very expensive restoration is now underway! |

CAVE EXPLORATION |
This fall some major spelunking will be happening at the Grand Canton Caverns! It will start with the Grotto Association, who are professional cavers, making a push deep inside our cave network in October. They look to build upon past discoveries and hopefully break through to some large caverns previously detected but never seen. Then in December, the caving will continue as explorers hope to be the first humans to ever set eyes on a large cavern we believe exists just beyond our current magnificent caverns. We are very excited! |
